Kif Yegon sets new women's 1,500m world record... 3 minutes 49.04 seconds

Yaroslava Mahuchik (22, Ukraine) broke the women's high jump world record that had stood for 37 years.

Mahuchik won the women's high jump final of the 2024 World Athletics Paris Diamond League held at the Charletty Stadium in Paris, France on the 8th (Korean time), clearing 2m10. 토토사이트 순위

It is a new world record, surpassing the 2m09 mark set by Stefka Kostadinova (Bulgaria) in August 1987 by 1cm.

The World Athletics Federation congratulated Mahuchik, saying, "Mahuchik has become the first woman in the world to clear 2m10."

On this day, Mahuchik confirmed her victory by surpassing Nicolas Olislagers (Australia) who cleared 2m01 the moment she cleared 2m03.

Mahuchik then cleared 2.07m in his second attempt, breaking his own Ukrainian record (2.06m).

Never one to stop challenging, Mahuchik raised the bar to 2.10m and succeeded in his first attempt, becoming the new owner of the world record.

After the competition, Mahuchik said in an interview with the organizing committee, "I did the best jump of my life."

"I cleared 2.07m and set my personal best and Ukrainian record.

"The coach said, 'The Paris Olympics are coming up, so today's finish is fine,' but I wanted to challenge the world record and I finally did it," she said.

"Many fans are supporting me," she added, "Today's win does not guarantee me a gold medal at the Paris Olympics.

I will prepare myself mentally and compete in the Paris Olympics."

Mahuchik, who finished third at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics in 2021, will compete in the Paris Olympics wearing the armband of the 'world record holder'.

The difficult situation of Ukraine, which has been in a long war with Russia, has strengthened Mahuchik's heart.

Mahuchik, who has consistently delivered an 'anti-war message' at international competitions, said on this day, "I have engraved Ukraine in the history of world athletics" and "It is a victory for the Ukrainian people."

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky wrote on social networking services (SNS), "Mahuchik showed Ukraine's will to win to the world."

A new world record was also set in the women's 1,500m.

Faith Kipyegon (Kenya) crossed the finish line in 3:49.04, beating Jessica Hoole (Australia) in 3:50.83.

At the same time, Kipyegon set a new world record, improving her own record of 3:49.11 set in June last year by 0.07 seconds. Kipyegon

said, "It's amazing and exciting to break the world record," and "I'm even happier to see that I'm moving in the right direction to win the Paris Olympics."

Kipyegon is aiming for a third consecutive Olympic gold medal in the women's 1,500m, following Rio de Janeiro in 2016 and Tokyo in 2021.
